ATLANTIC CITY — One of the city’s main entrances took a big step out of the past Friday and straight into its future.

The busy corner of Albany and Ventnor avenues, where a set of signs had prominently promoted key 2015 events for most of 2016, got a major update when workers pasted new posters over those dated ones.

And the redone signs not only aren’t out of date anymore, they now point to what’s next for the city’s Chelsea neighborhood. That’s the Atlantic City Gateway project, which is scheduled to include both a new campus for Stockton University and a new headquarters for South Jersey Gas.
